Dearest Guild Members and Friends,

It has been an amazing two years of growth for the Guild. We have raised the most money ever in our history—a direct result of all of our hard work. I was incredibly proud to present a check to Maryvale at the last General Meeting.

We are on a new course in the Guild. This was a big transition year for all of us. We have taken the Guild to the next level in fundraising to set us apart from other charities. We have begun to entertain corporate sponsorship for our two big events, the Holiday Luncheon and the “Heart to Heart” Gala. We launched a new user-friendly website that is attracting individual donors who want to help the children of Maryvale. We also have a new program called “Greater Giving” that enhances our ability to take online donations, make online sales and in the future, take online auction bids. Maryvale is an expensive place to run because we maintain the highest standards of care and are dealing with so many traumatized children. This all takes financial support from the Guild.

We also pulled off some amazing events. Thank you to Wendy Burch, who continues to be our Mistress of Ceremonies for the “Be a Friend” Luncheon. She is an amazing woman, an asset to our fundraising and big part of the enjoyment of the Luncheon. I also want to thank Loc Waters for his stellar performance as Master of Ceremonies at the “Heart to Heart” Safari Gala. He is an example of unselfish commitment to the Guild. Jackie Brooks, our Gala honoree, brought her gracious perspective to how pressing the needs of these children can be. I am positive her speech put people in a mood of generosity for the Live Auction and funded item, a new playground for the children.

There are so many more people to thank that I might as well list our entire roster of members, but you know who you are—the people I have counted on over these last two years and who will continue to stand up for all children. I have depended on my Board of Directors and I am most grateful to you all for your help and guidance.

In my book, every member is valuable to the Guild. You are a phenomenal group of women and I have loved every minute of being your President!

Sincerely yours (from my newly minted position in the Past Presidents Circle),

Indy Carey
