We all hope that the life we lead is relevant, important to some, and useful to many. We come together in the Los Angeles Orphanage Guild for a variety of reasons: to give back, to make new friends, to serve our community, to feel part of something larger than ourselves, and to help the abused and neglected girls of Maryvale – in other words, to be useful in the most relevant way possible.
The Orphanage Guild is composed of members who have a variety of reasons for belonging, the most important of these, the help and support that they give to Maryvale. During the months of November and December, the season of gratitude and giving, we would like to extend our gratitude to the members of the Guild for making this an incredible season of giving, both from a supportive perspective and a financial one. We are so lucky to be able to do this work, work that is worth our best efforts.
Also, as the Guild grows, we have an important need for effective communication. To accomplish this goal we’ve started a monthly email to Guild members called the “President’s Pipeline.” We want to be able to keep all members informed of what is happening without waiting for the Newsletter, which is distributed only twice a year.

We feel honored to be Co-Presidents of this amazing Guild and part of the process of contributing and exploring what is relevant, important, and useful to us all.
