Congratulations to the wonderful Chairs of the Safari “Heart to Heart” Gala, Mary Ann Atkisson and Melinda Woodruff. The Gala is the signature event of the Los Angeles Orphanage Guild. This is an evening of camaraderie and fundraising held every spring by the Guild to benefit Maryvale.
This year’s Safari-themed Gala was a resounding success and a beautiful evening for all members and guests of the Guild. The Gala took place at the Four Seasons Beverly Hills on March 24. The party was a sold-out success and included almost 300 guests and 300 silent auction items. Our Live Auction was anchored by an amazing weeklong South African safari, generously donation by Southern Destinations, a 5-star safari tour company.
Thank you to all members who worked overtime to make the party a memorable night.
Our amazing Master of Ceremonies, Loc Waters, was as funny as he is charming. Guests were thoroughly entertained. President of the Guild Indy Carey addressed the guests, and our honoree was beautifully introduced by former President Alice Palermo.
A huge thank you to:
Angela Siuta Pechin, Nancy Lewis, Patti Summers, Nancy Elliott, Phyllis Conkle, Betsy Emanuel, Margo Gleitman, Diana Doyle, Patti DiTullio, Cindy Faribank, Maureen Schultz, Karen Knott, Debbie Buderwitz, Joan Layden and Lisa Sheedy and of course, our honoree and winner of the Countess Estelle Doheny Award, Jackie Brooks, for a beautiful speech about the joy of giving back to Maryvale and the children in their care.
All members of the Guild participate and support this evening so thank you to every active member of the LAOG.
This was a magical night for a wonderful cause.
